People living in the ME1 postcode will be left without power until around 8pm today.

The area has been plunged into darkness due to a fault with an underground cable.

UK Power Networks received a report of the issue at 4.55am this morning and its engineers have been in the area, trying to fix the problem since 7.15am.

So far three people have reported the problem to UK Power Networks.

The power cut is impacting people in Maidstone Road, Rochester, Rochester Airport, and villages Wouldham and Burham.

This comes after the ME7 area in Gillingham was left without power for 24 hours.
