A popular pumpkin-picking site has re-opened today after it was forced to close due to a flooded entrance.

PYO Pumpkins in Hoo posted the news on Facebook yesterday that it was closed due to a burst water main.

The rupture of a 16-inch pipe meant staff could not open for the day.

At around 11am yesterday, they wrote: "We are closed all day – please do not come to the farm today.

"This is due to the water main leak. Refunds will be issued in due course."

Customers were promised refunds or date changes and told to wait for an email.

Bosses have now said all pumpkin pickers from October 23 have been sent this email regarding changing tickets or refunds.

They said: "Following the catastrophic water main pipe burst yesterday, we have managed to get a track built into the field.

"The entrance is muddy from the water main so please take care, drive slowly and park where the marshals ask you to in the car park.

"Please ensure you drive on mats where possible, and no wheel spinning or excessive revving.

"We look forward to seeing you." The farm opened at 10.30 today.

Yesterday afternoon, Southern Water attended the site and dug a "very big hole" to resolve the issue.
