Building society Kent Reliance to close temporarily after ram raid at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre

A building society, that was ram raided has said it will shut for the "foreseeable future".
At 3.15am today the branch of Kent Reliance in Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre, was targeted.
Police are at the scene and have cordoned off the area to investigate.
Officials from the building society have decided to close the store.
Kent Reliance spokesman Robert Gurr said: "We’re pleased that no-one has been hurt, but due to the significant damage caused to the front of the building, the branch will be closed for the foreseeable future whilst further investigations take place.
"We apologise to customers who are inconvenienced by this temporary closure and we’re working hard to get the branch open as soon as possible.
"For customer information, the closest alternative branch is 250 High Street, Chatham or customers are welcome to call our Customer Helpline on 0345 122 1122”
The nearest alternative branches are at Chatham and Maidstone.
Despite the police cordon round the scene, shops including TK Maxx have confirmed they will stay open as normal.
Hempstead Valley shopping centre has said the road will be a one way system for the rest of the week to make way for the police investigation.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
