Looking for a frightful Halloween? Look no further than Halloween Horrors at Fort Amherst.
The immersive tour uses the fort’s spooky tunnels and creepy atmosphere to throw thrill-seekers into the perfect scare experience, and does it brilliantly.
The route is filled with 12 terrifying scenes, sure to make you jump out of your skin. This year’s theme, created by a team of volunteers led by Ed Gulvin and Eddie Sampson, is an infectious apocalyptic event.
Fighting the deadly virus, the Army are at the forefront of the battle helping you to get to safety. But the outbreak is not containable and the infected begin to escape.
Beginning with a road of chaos, the opening scene sees you walk through cars alight, tattered tents and abandoned belongings. Be sure to watch out for the infected ones that have been forgotten because they are on the hunt for fresh meat.
Visitor Joe Dawson, 21 said: “I had no idea that the actors were going to be so involved with the crowd, they were screaming in people’s faces, it was definitely jumpy.”
Other scenes included a disease-riddled hospital, a compromised Army base, a Satanic church and the dwellings of vampires.
All of the actors are volunteers, but do not be fooled, their passion and hard work shone through and their performances were phenomenal, scaring everyone involved. Actors seemed to appear from darkness, grabbing your ankles, touching your hair and even dragging you away from the crowd.
With strobe lights, chilling sound effects and intense backdrops this event is not for the faint hearted.
