A secondary school has issued a "stranger danger" warning after two students were handed a sexual note by a balding man.

Rainham Mark Grammar has sent a message out to parents and carers alerting them of the incident.

The email reads: "Two of our female Year 11 students – who are currently on study leave – were approached at Tesco Extra, Gillingham by a man who passed them an inappropriate note that was sexual in nature. He then rode off on his bicycle.

"He is described as white, in his 50s, wearing a grey tracksuit, balding, approximately 5'9" and average build.

"We have instructed form tutors to remind students of stranger danger and if approached, told students to move to an open space, "yell and tell", to find another adult if possible and to let trusted adults or parents know immediately of the incident."

The girls were approached yesterday at around 1pm and officers have been informed.

This is not the first time the school in Pump Lane has issued a stranger danger warning. In February, a child was approached by a man on her way home as she was walking past Twydall School.

A spokesman for Rainham Mark declined to comment further.
