Seven arrested following spate of motorbike thefts across Medway

Seven people have been arrested in connection with a spate of vehicle thefts.

Two motorbikes, a quadbike and a moped, all suspected to be stolen, were uncovered following a search warrant at a Chatham business.

Three men from Chatham aged 20, 25 and 28, a 17-year-old boy from Rochester, an 18-year-old man from Gillingham, a 22-year-old woman from Maidstone and a 64-year-old man from Rainham were all taken into custody.

They were arrested on July 26 on suspicion of conspiracy to commit vehicle theft.

The 18-year-old was additionally arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and the 17-year-old for possession of cannabis.

All seven have been bailed until October 18 and 24 while enquiries are carried out.
