Invicta Dynamos suffered a weekend of mixed fortunes after beating Slough Jets 12-1 in the English National Ice Hockey League on Saturday, before losing 5-0 at Chelmsford Chieftains in the Southern Cup on Sunday.
Four goals by man-of-the-match Callum Best and a hat-trick from Justin Noble (pictured) helped Dynamos to a big win over the Jets in Division 1 South on Saturday.
They led 9-0 after two periods, and scored three more, until the Jets ended their hopes of a shut-out, when Carl Thompson pounced on a defensive mistake.
Ryan Giles and Andy Smith both scored twice with Callum Fowler completing the tally.
Best again took the man-of-the-match honours in Dynamos’ Cup defeat, their third defeat at Chelmsford this season.
They outshot the Essex side 33-27, but found home netminder Ben Clements in good form.
