The Garden Party, part of the Rochester Literature Festival, takes place on Sunday July 13 at The Good Intent, Rochester

A mix of familiar faces and new names are lined up to entertain you this Sunday (July 13th) as the annual Garden Party returns once more to the Good Intent, John Street, Rochester.

Philip Kane will be joined by fellow Cultured Llama author, Gordon Meade, while Sam Fentiman-Hall will showcase a new short play.

Sophie Williams is taking a break from singing and dancing to share poetry in her own inimitable style, as is award winning playwright, Sarah Hehir.

The Garden Party takes place on Sunday at The Good Intent, John Street, Rochester.

The rapidly-making-a-name-for-himself, Dylan Oscar Rowe, completes the line up of family friendly writers.

In between the words, music will be provided by Gavin Alexander, Tendayi Sutherland and alternative folk music from The Flowing.

Talented singer songwriter Sophia Beeby will also be performing with her friend Luke Fraser. Sophia played on the the youth stage at Love Music Hate Racism in 2011.

Comics Mat Wils and Nigel Adams will be hosting the event again, having opened the first Garden Party two years ago.

Children are welcome with The Word Shed offering them the chance to create more leaves for the Poetree.

There will also be an Open Mic session too – just turn up and add your name to the list on the day.

The event begins at 1pm and is scheduled to finish at 5pm.

The Garden Party is part of the Rochester Literature Festival. This year's festival, Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know, runs from September 25 to October 5.

This year's line up feature Sunny Ormonde (Lilian Bellamy from the Archers), Trenton Oldfield, Phil Kay, Marcus and Joe, the children's authors, Angela & Debz, plus talented local writers.
