Suspicious death in Rainham

A man aged 79 has been arrested by police investigating a suspicious death in Rainham.

Officers were called to a home in Deanwood Drive, Parkwood, at about 10.30am today, Sunday, where they found the body of the man’s elderly wife.

Officers cordoned off the property and sent in forensic specialists to make a detailed examination of the scene.

Neither the man nor the woman have been named by police.

Officers say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police are treating the death as suspicious and have arrested a 79-year-old man.

“He is currently being questioned at Medway Police Station.”
