The boarded up shop

Two vandals hurled a table through a shop window, causing hundreds of pounds of damage.

The two men were spotted by a taxi driver in Station Road, Rainham, picking up a table outside R&R engraving and trophy shop and throwing it through the window.

The men had been walking up and down the street and were reported to have been speaking to each other in a foreign language.

Keith Knott, who has run the shop for five years, said: “It happened at about 1.30am on Friday morning. The first I knew about it was when I came in to open up the shop at 8am.

“Nothing was taken from inside, just a few trophies were broken, presumably where they had been knocked off the shelves.”

The glass has now been replaced, costing Mr Knott hundreds of pounds.

Police are investigating the incident.
