Gillingham FC have resolved technical problems that left fans unable to buy tickets for tomorrow's home match for several days.

An error with the club's online ticket payment system meant supporters had been unable to purchase tickets online or over the phone.

The only way people could buy them earlier today was by going to the ticket office at Priestfield Stadium in person.

A spokesman for the club said the system was back up and running by about 2.30pm.

He added: "We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."

Supporter Alan O'Shea, 65, had been trying to buy tickets online for the last two days.

He said: "There was nothing on the website to say there was a problem and I emailed this morning and never got a reply. When I eventually got through to the ticket office they told me what the problem was.

"I'm quite annoyed. I know mistakes happen but if you let people know what is going on, it is not half as bad. It's a shambles.

"I live in Herne Bay so I can't make the 60-mile round trip to get a ticket today and then do the same to get to the match tomorrow."
