Hoo teen hopes to be crown Miss Junior Galaxy UK

A teenager from Hoo, is set to compete in the UK’s biggest beauty pageant.
Taylor Kent-Barton, is just 13 years old, but has already successfully placed in every pageant she has entered.
Now, she has been chosen by The Galaxy Pageant UK to represent Kent, in a battle to win the title of Miss Junior Galaxy UK.
The pageant only pick one girl from each district to represent there are and Taylor has had to go up against more than 100 girls for the spot.
She said: “I am so proud to be representing Kent again in my third pageant. Being picked for the final of this pageant is such an achievement considering the amount of girls that enter it every year.
“I am so happy that I get to go and promote amazing causes within my community, whilst also being given the chance to enter events with my title as miss Junior Kent, raising money for charity.”
This pageant will require Taylor to compete inn opening round, a fashion wear, an evening wear, and an interview.
Judges will then give out scored for each category based of different qualities, like facial beauty, outfit choices and personality.

Girls that take part in the competition are also encouraged to work and volunteer within the local community.
In the lead up to the pageant, taking place this Saturday, Taylor has been volunteering at the Whitstable 5k run, where she is helping to raise money for Diabetes UK, after sadly losing her grandmother to type one diabetes eight years ago.
Taylor added: “Raising money for Diabetes UK, in the memory of my Nana, is one of the biggest achievements that I have gained from this pageant.”
Throughout her pageant career, the young teen has constantly tried to spread the message of inner beauty and gender equality.
She has recently given a speech on the topic at the Women’s Kent Business Association.
She said: “Beauty is defined by actions as well as the beholder and supporting the cause that matters to you is all part of the process of working your way towards being crowned a beauty queen.”
Samantha Stevens, Taylor’s mum, said: “She has always been a shy and quiet girl and I really feel like these pageants are helping with her confidence and she just keeps winning titles!”
“I am also so proud that she has decided to not only do a sponsored run already raising over £200 but give up her weekends to make appearances like running a stall in the community offering glitter tattoos or selling her own belongings to keep raising money for charity.”
