Police called to Eastchurch

A woman was rescued after apparently threatening to jump out of a window at a bed and breakfast.

The teenager, who has not been named, was seen trying to get out of a window at the Magee’s bed and breakfast in Rochester High Street, close to Star Hill, shortly before 5pm on Thursday.

The police were called to the guest house, which has a cafe below and is formerly Andy Snacks, and tried to talk the woman down.

Stephen Barker, who owns a shop nearby, wrote on Facebook: “A 19-year-old female was on top of Magees Bed and Breakfast and caused disruption for 10 minutes - but was pulled back through a window before any tragedy.”

“Patrols attended and detained the woman, who was taken to hospital for assessment.”
