A teenager has been charged after armed police were called to reports of a gunman at a shopping centre.

Marek Balog, 19, of no fixed address, is alleged to have brandished a weapon at the Pentagon in The Brook, Chatham on Tuesday.

Armed officers attended as a precaution and seized a BB gun.

Mr Balog has been formally charged with possessing an air weapon with intent to cause fear of violence.

He has been bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates Court on Tuesday, March 27.
