Tesco

A supermarket was evacuated last night after a suspected gas leak in a freezer.

Firefighters were called to Tesco, in Cuxton Road, Strood, at about 7.30pm.

They isolated the supply to a large walk-in freezer, which was used by staff in the stock room.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Shoppers and staff had to leave the store and staff called in the gas board."
