The remains of a cannabis factory have been discovered at a house in Medway.

Officers found growing equipment and evidence the Class B drug had been harvested at the one-bedroom terrace in Prince's Street, Rochester.

Neighbours told how a building bag was removed from the property by police, who spent hours at the scene.

One said: " Apparently whatever plants were being grown in there had been stripped already, so the police didn't get there in time to catch whoever is responsible."

A police spokesman said officers were first called at 11.30am on Thursday.

They added: "Police attended a property in Princess Street, Rochester following a report that the address was insecure.

"Officers entered the premises and found evidence that one of the downstairs rooms had previously been used to harvest cannabis.

"There were no plants growing inside the property.

"No arrests have been made."
