Shoplifter Lee Fuller was arrested for stealing from shops in Medway - and then had to face the wrath of his mother.

Fuller, 22, of Skinner Street, Gillingham, took meat from the Co-op store in Central Parade, Rochester, and a £59.99 Xbox 360 wireless adapter from Maplins Electronics store in Luton Road, Chatham.

Medway Magistrates' Court

Medway magistrates heard how he had gone into the Co-op on January 19 and took four packets of meat valued at £19.52 without paying.

He was later identified by CCTV images from the store and questioned over the matter when he was arrested for the offence at Mapllns.

Alan Balneaves, defending, said: “He took the items when he had no benefit for a while.

He was also placed under curfew for three months and ordered to pay £19.52 compensation and £85 costs.
