Three car crash in Watling Street, Strood, after man crashed into the barrier and a woman who stopped to help was smashed into

Three cars crashed early this morning after a man collided with the road barrier.

A woman who saw the accident pulled over and got out her car to try and help him and a third driver then smashed into her car.

Fire and ambulance crews were called to Watling Street, Strood, at 5.50am.

The 34-year-old male driver of the car which hit the barrier was put on a stretcher and taken to Medway Maritime Hospital complaining of back pain.

The two other motorists were unharmed and able to drive their cars away.

Police also attended for traffic control and all emergency services had left the scene by 7.20am.
