Nominations have opened for the Pride in Medway Awards 2022.

The awards, which celebrate the achievements of people who live or work in the Medway Towns, are now in their 20th year.

Previous winners have included Anita Marinelli who raised almost £600,000 for the Ruby Young Appeal; One Big Family Helping The Homeless, run by Liz and Darren Shaw; and Gareth Acres and Billy McPhail who saved someone's life at Strood railway station.

People can nominate groups or individuals who they think deserve some recognition for the difference they make.

Although last year’s awards was run virtually online, for 2022 the Pride in Medway team has announced that the usual gala evening will take place.

This year’s sponsors so far include AC Goatham & Son, Uniper, Medway Council, MidKent College, mhs Homes, and Dockside Property Services.

There are still two remaining categories up for grabs for Medway businesses.

The awards, launched by Medway Messenger 20 years ago, are organised by Pillory Barn.
