Travellers move onto field near Woodlands Cemetery in Gillingham

Medway council are taking action after travellers moved onto a field near a cemetery.

A number of vehicles and caravans were parked on the field next to Woodlands Cemetery in Gillingham yesterday.

Aerial pictures show eight caravans and 10 other vehicles; and there are reports quad bikes have been driven on the site.

James Brown, Medway Council’s Head of Regulatory Services, said: “We are following a civil legal process to move the group on as quickly as possible.”
