Two teenagers in their 20s rescued from their boat when it got stuck in mud off Strand Approach Road in Gillingham

Two teenagers had to be rescued from their boat when it got stuck in mud.

Emergency services went to Strand Approach Road in Gillingham around 3pm today to help the pair, who are both aged 15.

Firefighters and Coastguard in mud rescue

The boat had become stranded during a low tide and crews used a winch to pull it to safety.

The rescue involved personnel in two fire engines, a water safety unit and the Coastguard.

They were at the scene for roughly an hour.
