Two car crash on Lower Rainham Road, Gillingham sees large emergency service response

A woman has been taken to hospital after two cars crashed this evening.

It happened at about 4.20pm on the B2004 Lower Rainham Road in Gillingham, and saw a large emergency response.

A witness noted two Ford vehicles were involved and a large emergency service response was taking place.

He added: "The front of the blue car and side of the grey one are smashed up.

"There are two police cars and two ambulances as well as a joint response unit here and at least two people are being treated by paramedics.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene where a teenage boy received medical attention and a woman was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

"The road was blocked until one of the vehicles was recovered."
