Kia driver remains in hospital in critical condition after serious crash in St Williams Way, Rochester

A woman in her 60s remains in hospital in a critical condition more than a week after a crash which saw a car end up on its side.

Emergency services attended the incident in St Williams Way, Rochester, on Thursday, February 1.

A grey Volvo S60 had been driving along the road towards City Way when it was involved in a collision with a Kia Sportage travelling in the same direction shortly before 6pm.

The incident happened near the junction with Fairlead Road.

Pictures taken from the scene showed police tape around the crash and fire crews working to stablise one of the cars which had overturned.

Two fire engines attended and firefighters had to rescue the driver of the Kia, a woman in her 60s.

She was treated at a local hospital but has since been moved to a London hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The other driver, a man in his 40s, received medical attention for minor injuries.

Officers have been carrying out enquiries and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward and call the appeal line if they have not yet spoken to the police.
