Woman taken to hospital after being hit by a car

A woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car.

Police and paramedics attended the scene on Gun Lane in Strood on Mondayafter a car hit a pedestrian.

Her injuries have been described as serious and she was taken to a London hospital for treatment.

A wall outside All Faiths Primary School has been knocked down by the car and a police cordon was put up at the time of the incident.

Police spokesman Martin Very said: "Kent Police was called at 5.27pm on Monday 24 September regarding a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Gun Lane, Strood.

"Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where a woman was treated for injuries that are described as serious.

"She has been taken to a London hospital for further medical attention."
