Police called to the scene where a woman was seen 'sitting in the road'.

It happened in Matts Hill Road, Rainham where it goes over the M2 near Medway Services.

One eye witness said: "I could see one person sitting in the road and lots of people were running towards them."

Police spokesman James Walker said: "Police were called to concerns for a distressed woman who was seen on a bridge above the M2, between junctions 5 and 4, at 12.41pm on Thursday, November 15.

"The woman is now safe and with officers, who are currently still at the scene."
