Ahead of the weekend's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, KentOnline asked two generations what they think of the Queen.

We first headed to Hedgehogs Nursery in Chatham where the three and four-year-olds were stuffing their faces with ice cream at their royalty-themed afternoon tea.

We wanted to know what they knew about the Queen and Emmy told us that she looks after the country.

The children had a lot more creative answers up their sleeves, shouting that she is in fact not 96-years-old but two, six and four and pasta was, of course, her favourite food.

And when asked what he would ask Her Majesty, Kurt simply replied: "Can I have sweeties?"

On the other end of the spectrum, we put similar questions to the residents of Gardenia House Care Home in Dartford where many remember the Queen's coronation.

Anne Potter, who is 101-years-old, recalled the Queen visiting her school where her two sisters had the chance to meet her.

"I couldn't get to her, there was so many people, but they did," she said. "They thought she was the cat's whiskers.

"I would have said to her 'what a wonderful Queen you are and we all appreciate what you do for us'."
