An animal mad couple spent £4,000 on a lavish wedding for their pampered pooches – and it has now featured on television.
Honey the teacup chihuahua and her Chinese crested-chihuahua groom, Joey, tied the knot in June.
The ‘muttramony’ included a crystal detailed wedding gown and a miniature horse-drawn cart to take the bride to the ceremony that was held at Debi Clarke’s home at Perry Hill Farm in Cliffe.
Millionaires Debi, the owner of the child talent agency, BizzyKidz, and her husband, Bob Clark, a retired poker player, spared no expense for their beloved pets’ special day.
The cute doggy couple were even given a wedding planner to make sure their day was puppy perfection.
Debi said: “We had approximately 60 guests. We had a hen party, stag do, catering, minister – the lot. It was a full-blown wedding.
“It was an excuse for a party. I do realise they are dogs and they didn’t get married, but we did a full wedding theme.
“I have 13 dogs, they all had roles and outfits to match –mother of the bride, father of the bride, best man.
“Two dobermans were ushers, we had bridesmaids, a matron of honour and flower girls. There was even a doggy wedding cake and a hotdog stand – for human’s food.”
Debi even insisted on taking Honey to a wedding fair to get ideas for the big celebration.
The chihuahua has her own designer boutique, called Sweet Honey Chi, that sells doggy couture day wear, fancy dress and red carpet clothes.
All the outfits are custom made to the exact measurements of their future four-legged owners.
The boutique is also set to begin selling natural health and beauty products and an accessory line next month.
Honey also has her own Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.
The doggy wedding was featured on ITV’s The Secret Life of Posh Pets on Friday and will be in the second episode airing this Friday at 8pm.
Chihuahuas Honey and Joey dressed in their wedding finery also appeared on ITV’s This Morning with Debi today.
