Invicta Dynamos leapfrogged league leaders Cardiff Devils after thrashing the Welsh side 7-2 at the Gillingham Ice Bowl.
The Mos made it nine wins from nine in ENIHL Division 1 and it was an evening to remember for prolific forward Andy Smith.
Smith’s two goals on the night took his points tally for Invicta to 500.
Sunday evening’s match was full value for a large home crowd who witnessed nine goals and a number of fights between the top two sides.
The hosts were three up by the first break. Mark Williams opened the scoring for the Mos, Nicky Lewis made it two from a powerplay goal and Smith scored the third.
Tim Smith scored midway through the second period, with a shot from distance, before Cardiff pulled a goal back. The Mos made it 5-1 by the end of the second with an effort from Peter Vaisanen.
Smith clinched his 500th point in the final period and Lewis also got his second of the night to make it 7-1. Cardiff pulled another back but the end of the game was dominated by a series of fights.
