Anthony Leone marked his Invicta Dynamos return with a goal and two assists during Saturday’s win over Streatham Redskins.
Forward Leone (pictured) has spent the last two seasons with the Romford Raiders but the fans’ favourite was back to help inject some life into the Dynamos season.
His goal and two assists - which helped earn him the man-of-the-match award - helped the Mos to their third NIHL South Division 1 victory of the current campaign. It was the side’s first win in six.
Leone’s last spell at Gillingham saw him ice for the club 153 times, during which time he netted 62 goals and made 58 assists.
Kevin Parrish’s Dynamos had to come back from trailing 3-2 in the final period to beat the Redskins 5-3.
Two strikes within a minute put the Mos on the backfoot early on and they trailed 2-0 at the end of the first.
Streatham’s Phil Manny came off second best to Anthony Lennon when they traded blows and the lead was cut in half when Callum Best scored a brilliant solo goal.
The Mos levelled early on in the third, with Justin Noble scooping the puck into the top corner.
Hopes were dashed again as the Redskins moved back infront but Lennon was on hand to restore parity. With eight minutes left captain Andy Smith put the hosts ahead for the first time and Peter Vaisanen added a fifth to secure the win.
The Mos were unable to double up, with another win on Sunday, as they suffered a heavy 8-3 defeat at the Chelmsford Chieftains in the EH Cup.
