Appeal after teen assault

Police are appealing for witnesses after a boy of 14 was assaulted.

The boy, from Gillingham, suffered cuts and bruises in the attack on Friday, March 12.

He was walking along Maidstone Road at about 7.15pm when the group of 15 approached him. A number of people then assaulted him.

An unknown man and woman helped the boy after the assault.

Five boys aged between 13-15, all from Gillingham, were arrested on suspicion of assault and releasd on police bail.

They are due at Medway Police Station at a later date.
