Armed police were called to reports of a fight involving a group of people, including a man with an air gun.

Officers were called to Solomon Road, Rainham, just after 8pm last night following reports of a number of people involved in an altercation.

A 52-year-old man from Rainham was arrested on suspicion of possessing an air weapon with intent to cause fear of violence.

A 21-year-old woman from Rainham was also arrested on suspicion of assault and both remain in custody as enquiries continue.

Police say an air weapon has been seized.
