A man was arrested after armed police were called to a house last night.

Officers were sent to White Road, Chatham, at around 9pm where a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.

One woman who saw the emergency service response near Whyman Avenue said police were "pointing guns at an upstairs window".

The young man was released pending further investigations.
