Two men were arrested and a samurai sword seized after armed police were spotted at a house.
Police were called to Luton Road, Chatham, at about 1pm following reports of a disturbance.
One witness saw 12 officers, including armed ones, outside a home in the street alongside six police cars.
She said: "It seemed to be an argument between two men for ages and the police were called.
"One person was put in handcuffs and then they searched the house."
A police spokesman added: "Officers attended and two men were arrested on suspicion of affray. No injuries were reported.
A samurai sword has been seized as part of ongoing inquiries."
Police said a 29-year-old man who was arrested has been bailed until September 19, while a 38-year-old man has been bailed until September 14.
