A man has been taken to hospital after suffering a head injury in an alleged assault.
Several squad cars and armed response vehicles were spotted in Hazelmere Drive in Gillingham this evening.
Two ambulances were also stationed outside a block of flats at the junction with Thirlmere Close.
Officers were called to the scene just before 5pm where a man had sustained a head injury.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is not believed to be serious.
A neighbour, who did not want to be named, told KentOnline: “I saw a man with blood dripping down his neck and another with a bandage around his head being taken into ambulances.
“There are six police cars and two armed responders wearing balaclavas and carrying guns.”
Police are currently carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident.
A spokesman said: “It is understood that the victim and offender are known to each other.”
