Toyota Aygo wrecked after suspected drink driver crashes in Magpie Hall Road, Chatham, on New Year's Day

A suspected drink driver was arrested on New Year's Day after her car ploughed into bushes and through a fence after hitting a parked car.

Kent Police's Roads Unit was called to Magpie Hall Road in Chatham where a red Toyota Aygo was taped off on the grass.

A silver car crashed into the Aygo at around 10.20am whose bumper was left hanging off at the front with tyre as a result.

There were multiple tyre marks also left in the mud.

On New Year's Day a spokesman for the team said: "Driver arrested for failing to provide a specimen of breath and currently awaits interview.

"It's quite simple, don't drink and drive."

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a report that a car had collided with a parked vehicle in Magpie Hall Road.

"Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where the driver was treated for a head injury.

"She was taken to hospital for further medical attention and arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

"The local woman was later bailed to return to the police station on April 1, 2023."
