An arrest has been made after a man was found dead on a grass verge.

The body of John Convey was found just before 11.30pm on Thursday, July 13 in Lower Twydall Lane, near Rainham.

On Tuesday, police released CCTV images of him in the days before he died.

Officers from Kent Police’s Major Crime Unit are investigating and have arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with the death.

Mr Convey’s cause of death remains unknown at this time.

The arrested man, from Gillingham, has since been bailed until Monday, September 11 while investigators continue to carry out inquiries.

Police have decided not to reveal what the man has been arrested on suspicion of at this stage.
