A 31-year-old has been arrested after a man was allegedly seen threatening members of the public near a school.
Police were called at 2.44pm on Tuesday (September 5) to a report that a man made threats while holding a metal bar in Twydall Lane, Gillingham.
Officers attended and completed a search of the area but he had left before they arrived.
Twydall Primary School and Nursery in nearby Romany Road was also rumoured to be put on lockdown during this time.
A post had been circling on Facebook warning others.
“Please all look out for this man,” it said. “Today on my way to collect my child from school he approached me with a metal pole in his hand and told me to ‘give me your children’.
“At the time I had none with me so replied I don't have kids.
“He swang for me with the bar and then proceeded to tell me to give him all my money and he was my god.”
Twydall Primary School has been contacted for a comment.
