Police were called to the house at 10.17am yesterday, and were called to the M2 bridge just two minutes later.
The air ambulance was called to the property at 10.05am and landed in a nearby field.
The woman was taken to King's College Hospital by road with injuries to her neck, chest, abdomen and arms.
The victim and suspect are known to one another and officers are linking this incident with an ongoing search for a man beneath the M2 motorway bridge.
Officers were called to the bridge at 10.20am yesterday due to "concerns for the welfare" of a man.
The footpath on the M2 Medway bridge coastbound between J2 and J3 was cordoned off by police until around 1.30pm.
The police helicopter was also scrambled to join the search, which was called off at 4.45pm last night, due to poor viability.
A silver car was seen parked on the hard shoulder and was later recovered from the bridge.
