Police have charged a suspect with attempted murder after a man was taken to hospital with a stab wound following a suspected robbery.
The victim had left a house in Luton Road, Chatham, shortly after midnight last Tuesday (February 20).
But when he returned he reported being assaulted by two men inside the property and stabbed.
His alleged assailants left with the victim’s mobile phone and a quantity of cash.
The victim is still in hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.
On the same day, a woman was arrested in connection with the incident, and two days later, three men were also detained.
The Crown Prosecution Service has now authorised a charge of attempted murder against Aakeem Kelliot.
A second man, Max Alexander, is charged with assault by beating.
The pair were further charged with conspiracy to rob, along with Martin Lilly and Jacqueline Manners.
Alexander, 39, and Kelliot, 32, both of no fixed address, appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, February 24, and on Monday, February 26 respectively.
They were remanded in custody until a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on March 22.
Lilly and Manners, both aged 38 and both of Luton Road, Chatham, were conditionally bailed by Medway Magistrates’ Court to the same hearing.
