An author is offering a £500 prize to anyone who can achieve his crazy golf challenge.
John Hemming-Clark used to go to assemblies at Rochester Cathedral during his time as a student at the King's School Rochester.
He often wondered what could be done with the space in the cathedral's breath-taking nave, and was stunned to hear that the space now hosts a crazy golf course.
He went along to try his hand at the course and was scoring a two on every hole.
That is until he stumbled across the sixth hole featuring the QEII bridge.
He tackled the difficult hole scoring a three and 20 points overall in the nine-hole course.
The difficulty of the sixth hole gave John, from Chislehurst, the idea to pose a challenge; anyone who scores a two on the sixth hole could win £500.
John, who is a Scout leader and has published a series of children's books, has pledged to donate an additional £500 to the cathedral if the prize is won.
He said: "I think it's achievable, but it's very difficult.
"We did get someone who was very close and we thought we can throw down and challenge and encourage people to go down and have a go."
"The mini golf was an incentive to go down and have a look at the cathedral. I got down there and spent a pleasurable afternoon in the cathedral and the High Street."
John posted the challenge on the website for his nine-book series about mischievous Scout called Horace Horrise, who John likens to a "contemporary William Brown" from the Just William series.
The prize will go to the first person who can score a two on the hole, sending a video of themselves doing it to John.
The contest is open until Sunday, September 1, which is the last day the course will be open to the public.
