A baby was taken to hospital yesterday (Thursday) after being involved in a car crash.

The 18-month-old boy was taken by ambulance to Medway Maritime Hospital following a two vehicle crash.

The incident happened on the M2 coastbound at the top of Blue Bell Hill and involved a van and Ford KA.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 6pm.

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “It was a low impact collision, but the baby, who was in the back of the vehicle, had to be taken to hospital to be checked out.”

A firefighter travelled in the ambulance with the baby. It is not believed the boy sustained any serious injuries.
