Barman hopes to woo football fans with cocktails instead of pints at Charlton FC

Barman Scott Tulloch is hoping his new venture to sell cocktails at a football stadium kicks off.

The 42-year-old has launched his own business after being furloughed during lockdown – and having ploughed £10,000 into Larry's Mobile Bar he's banking on it netting a winner.

Scott, who used to work behind the bar at the University of Kent's Medway campus, had already started to plan for going self-employed when Covid struck.

During lockdown he was able to save money and prepare to go it alone, buying equipment, getting a licence and hiring a space to concoct his drinks.

This year he has been able to get the business up-and-running and has supplied his bottled drinks at weddings, birthday parties and fireworks events.

He also provides drinks to Spice Fusion, an Indian restaurant near his home in Parkwood which he shares with partner Donna Prescott.

But his biggest coup to date is to get Charlton Athletic FC to sell his products during home matches at The Valley.

The die-hard Addicks fan hopes to tempt fans with exotic tipples instead of cans of beer.

He said: "It's a new concept. Who knows, cocktails before a match may take over from a pint? And it works out cheaper."

Scott is selling four bottles for £13 or 12 bottles for £32 and he currently has nine flavours to choose from, including pornstar martini, sex on the beach and strawberry daiquiri.

His new "office" is warehouse space at Chatham's Pentagon shopping centre and Donna, 43, helps out with the packaging and branding.

If it takes off at Charlton, he plans to get Larry's Mobile Bar, named after his late grandfather Laurence, into other football grounds.

He added: "Lockdown and being furloughed for two years has helped me to be self-employed and start my own one-man business."
