Crash on Pier Road, Gillingham

A biker has been treated at the roadside following a crash.

It happened in Pier Road, Gillingham, near the Asda supermarket at around 6pm and one lane of the road was temporarily blocked.

Witnesses said paramedics were seen treating the casualty at the roadside and police were diverting traffic.

The person was taken to hospital and it is understood the road is no longer blocked.

Spokesman for the police, James Walker, said:

"We were called to a two vehicle collision in Pier Road.

"No serious injuries were sustained however one lane was blocked following the incident and a temporary speed limit was enforced to ensure public safety. This was lifted by 7.40pm."
