Chatham's new bus station and town centre roadworks are more than £1million over budget.

Costs soared after snow, unforeseen issues and protests over the bus station's design delayed the project by six months.

A report reveals the futuristic terminal in Globe Lane is £435,000 over budget, while roadworks in The Brook and Union Street are up by £779,000.

Drivers still face long delays, traders said they were at their wits' end and a senior councillor warned it could get worse.
