Fire in bins at Thames View Primary School, Rainham, which spread to shed was started deliberately

Fire crews were called to a primary school after bins were set alight and the flames spread to a nearby shed.

Two fire engines were sent to Thames View Primary School in Bloors Lane, Rainham overnight.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “It’s believed the fires were started deliberately in two bins, which spread to a small wood storage shed.

“Crews arrived on scene at 11.49pm last night and left at 12.34am today.”

Hose reel jets extinguished the flames and no one was injured, police have also been contacted for comment.
