A man who fell on his boat during the early hours of yesterday morning (Tuesday) was rescued by the Medway Coastguard team.
The team, along with the Sheerness RNLI Insure Lifeboat crew, were sent out to help the man, after he fell about 12ft from the boat’s deck into the engine bay.
The teams were sent out to his boat, a barge-type vessel is permanently moored at Strood Pier, shortly after 2.30am, after the man in his 50s, had managed to crawl back up from the engine bay and call for help.
It is understood he had injured his leg during the fall and the crews took him back to shore in Canal Road, Strood, where he was met by the police and ambulance crews.
A spokesman for the Medway Coastguard team said: “He was taken to hospital to get checked over.”
