Body found in ‘rural area’ near Lower Rainham Road

A body has been found near a main road.

Police and paramedics were called to Lower Rainham at around 4pm yesterday (December 4) to concerns for the welfare of a man.

Following a search, officers made the discovery in a “rural area”.

A man in his 30s was confirmed deceased.

Police said they could not tell where he had been found but there had been reports of officers towards the Gillingham end of Lower Rainham Road.

The force said the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being completed for the coroner.

Police have informed the man’s next of kin.
