A body has been found in a nature reserve.

A police cordon has been in place around woodland in Berengrave Lane in Rainham all day.

Officers confirmed the body of a man in his 40s had been found after they were called at 9.10am this morning.

The death is being treated as unexplained.

Officers are preparing a report for the coroner.

Berengrave Nature Reserve covers nearly 32 acres and is owned by Medway Council.
