A body has been found on a busy roundabout by a Tesco superstore.
Police are investigating after the man was discovered in Gillingham earlier today.
Emergency services were seen within and around the Bowaters Roundabout just after midday.
The roundabout – at the junction of the A2 and A278 – has a number of trees, bushes and grass in the middle.
An eyewitness described seeing officers at the scene alongside a private ambulance and at least one fire engine.
The man’s death is currently being treated as unexplained, with a police investigation ongoing.
The tragic discovery is not presently believed to be linked to any ongoing missing persons investigation.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “Kent Police was called just after midday today (Friday, October 27) to reports the body of a man had been found on Bowaters Roundabout, Gillingham.
“The man’s death is currently being treated as unexplained and officers are carrying out initial enquiries.”
