A teenager who was left fighting for his life after collapsing at a house party in Gillingham has died.
The boy, who was 16, but has not been named, was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital during the early hours of Saturday morning, after being found in a critical condition.
It is understood the teenager was celebrating at a party at a house in Priestfield Road when he was taken ill.
After being taken to hospital by ambulance it is understood medics called in police because his condition was so critical.
On Saturday afternoon, officers said they were investigating what had happened at the address, but were not at time treating the incident as suspicious.
A police officer was on guard outside the house for most of the day. No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
At the time, a police spokeswoman said: “Police are investigating following a report of concern for the welfare of a 16-year-old boy.
“Officers were alerted to the incident at around 4.20am this morning.”
This morning, the spokeswoman confirmed the boy, from London, died in hospital yesterday.
She added: “His death is not being treated as suspicious.”
A post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of his death.
